    What is HTML?
    Have you ever seen something online where the text runs all the way across the page, with no breaks, no paragraphs, no layout, no color, no links, no graphics?  And it's hard to read and hard to follow and doesn't present itself as well as it should and is just altogether not very pleasing? (You may have seen web pages or even online auction descriptions that look like that).  Well, that's what it looks like when you don't use HTML!

    

    PRESENTATION IS IMPORTANT
    especially on the internet
    HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is the official language and accepted standard of the internet.  It is the basic building block and key tool for creating and communicating practically everything and anything on the world wide web. You need to use at least the basics of HTML if you want to create a proper, acceptable looking online document or presentation.


    On the internet, HTML is necessary in order to
    • create an online document or presentation
    • format it the way you want
    • have control of text and elements
    • add color
    • add links
    • add photos
    • and lots more
